What are your operational days?

We are open for business from Monday- Friday (8am- 6pm) then on Saturdays (9am-4pm). We do not operate on Sundays.

Do you offer free ambulance and dispatch services?

What are the various health check packages?

Do you have retainership for clients?

Yes, we do, with the application of terms and conditions.

Do you do free screening promos/programme?

Yes, we do as a way of fulfilling our corporate and social responsibility to the society.

Is fasting required before my diagnostic lab test?

Some lab test requires you to fast beforehand. If we order a fasting test, you should not eat or drink any liquids except for water, for 12 hours prior to the test (usually before 10 am).

Why do you need more than one tube of blood?

We strive to draw the minimum amount of blood required for the tests. The number of tubes required will vary with each test, but we will only collect what is needed at the time of collection.

Who performs the testing on laboratory specimens?

Lab testing is performed in our BCHS Laboratories by qualified, licensed medical laboratory professionals who range in years of experience.

Radiology Department

Why can’t I eat or drink anything prior to my x-ray or imaging procedure?

For general x-ray exams (i.e. chest, hand, feet and spine), patients may eat or drink prior to the exam. For all other imaging procedures that require patients not to eat or drink, the reason is usually because the procedure is best performed on an empty stomach. There are specific exams that may require the administration of contrast, and in these circumstances the patients needs to have an empty stomach.

What is oral contrast for CT Scan?

Oral contrast (or dye) is used to highlight the stomach and intestines of
abdominal CT scanning exams. It is mixed with water and needs to be taken prior to the exam.

What is IV contrast for CT Scan?

IV contrast (or dye) is used for exams that require having an IV started at the procedure time. This is used to highlight the blood vessels and organs in the chest, abdomen and other body parts where necessary.

Why do I need to fast for my ultrasound exam?

Fasting eliminates much air in the stomach, which ultrasound does not see through. In addition, many foods contract the gall bladder thus preventing visualization.

How often should I have my routine mammogram?

The American cancer society suggests the first mammogram by the age of 40. At that age, a mammogram should be scheduled every 1 to 2 years.

Why can’t I wear deodorant before a mammography?

Some powders and deodorants have little metallic crystal that could show up on the mammogram images.

Why should I avoid caffeine when I have my mammogram?

Caffeine can make the breast more tender, which can make the test very uncomfortable.
